May in my Garden*~*

On Sunday we spent the day in the garden...

We bought a few plants,* Diascia, Viola and Antirrhinum* for the baskets from a pretty nursery at Edale in the Peak District the day before...
I filled the rest of the pots with homegrown seedlings..so fingers crossed they grow

Fin made me a cold frame so I filled It up!  as well as my little growhouse behind !

I planted geraniums in the old wash tub....

A plant shelf made from and old bath bridge....

The primroses have been flowering their little hearts out this year...

I love this Clematis it is so dainty, it reminds me of moths fluttering by....

The Spirea in the front garden has been beautiful...

This is a special place in my garden ...woodland and wild

A shy mummy Blackbird, she has babies in the hedge opposite...

The bird box did have a pair of Bluetits flying in and out but we haven't seen them for a while...

Well lets hope the sunshines soon...Hope you all have a Happy Week !

Making a Tree Wreath *~*

I saw a tree wreath in the Jeanne d' Arc Living magazine so I thought I would make one for my tree

I had made my ring last year, by twisting long whips of ivy ...

I found a remnant of white cotton cloth and tore it into strips.....

( a few flowers picked from the garden)

Tied the strips of cloth onto the ring...

I could have hung some cones on it as suggested by the magazine...

But decided to tie on Hellebore seed heads for a spring look...

There. I love my Hornbeam tree, and I am sure he loves his wreath...
Folklore called the Hornbeam the immortal tree, so I hope he is.

I shall just add a picture of Maisie sitting by the bluebells..

As you can imagine she loved making the wreath with me,  I had to give her a streamer to play with and now she is worn out ...bless

Inside now for a nice cup of tea and to read the rest of my lovely magazine

A Few Little Finds *~*

Sharing a few little finds..

.

 A vintage tea cosy...pretty stitching

A pressed glass candlestick with droplets....

Two metal jewellery box's ..I have put my brooches in one and my rings in the other....

This little china dog..now I must confess I am not a dog person ( I am quite scared of them)..but I felt sorry for this one, he was thrown in a basket containing old broken toys...

I think he is smiling....

A pretty floral teacup.....

And finally a book of flowers...

Friends are like stars, even though you cannot see them, you know they are there...
