A Morning in The Potting Shed!!

Well not really, it's the window end of the garage (I was having a Carol Klein moment) I have spent the morning sowing more seeds, mainly pretty flowers so fingers crossed!
Rebeckia and hollyhocks are peeping **
I took a walk around the garden in between the showers to see how it was getting on, my pretty bluebells tinkling in the breeze *~*
A clump of sweet violets came with me from Cornwall
Even the fairy is fed up with the rain!
I am going in now for a nice hot cup of tea**

    1. Hello Anne
Thank you for your lovely comments, Yes some of the plants have been early, I think it must have been the warm March we had, where is it now !

  2. Hi Thea - is that gravel on top of the seed trays? I am having trouble with the flower seedlings i am trying to grow. They have looked like mustard cress for two weeks and haven't moved on. They are on the window sill in the bathroom and I am convinced my husband's deodourant has stunted their growth! I never know when to thin them out and how many to discard. i am hopeless at this. 1. Hello Lily
Yes I have put a layer of horticultural grit on top of the seed trays, I find it helps with stopping the seedlings damping off, I usually pot on my seedlings when they have 3/4 leaves and discard the ones with weak roots, Hope this helps.

  3. Oh Thea you are SO industrious it puts me to shame! How neat and organised you are - I have a bad habit ordering the seeds, reading the books (yes Carol Klein!)then skipping over the potting bit, and heading straight for the hot cup of tea!

  5. I spent some of the weekend re-potting house plants and sewing Telefon Peas into toilet rolls....empty ones that is :) and I've sewn some Gherkin seeds which I hope will grow as I love pickled gherkins. You though, have been a very very busy bee. Adore the sweet violets, so pretty. Suzy x
