Handbags and Gladrags *~*

I have been thoroughly spoilt this weekend
Fin had an unexpected rebate from the taxman, and took me out shopping, now as I do not usually buy anything "new" I was so very happy to choose a lovely spotty dress from Joules( there were so many pretty styles to choose from, I felt like a little girl in a sweetie shop!
it was in their sale knocked down to £29.00 then we went into John Lewis and found these perfect shoes to match for £29.00 originally £95.00!!
so after we shared a pot of tea and a light lunch I hit the Charity shops while Fin amused himself in the electronic department, and this is what I found..
A pea green Laura Ashley bag never used £ 8.00...
A wonderful crepe dress £8.00...
A silk skirt £4.00...
And lastly a pretty scarf £1.00... Well I have been very spoilt (Fin bought a new laptop)so we returned home with big smiles on our faces

Bees buzzing in the bee garden *~*

The bees have arrived at last in the bee garden we planted in the spring. It is only a small patch where we planted Rudbeckia, Borage, and sowed Poppies, Cornflowers, Celendine, Daisies etc.. then the weather changed and the rains came and not much grew, we thought the seed must have washed away, but gradually seedlings started to grow...
And then this happened...
Now the sun has arrived so have the Bees!!
It's absolutely Buzzing!!!

Birthday Treat in Cumbria *~*

Two years ago for my birthday we stayed for a few days in Cumbria, we had a wonderful break in the autumn sunshine....
Crummock Water, Buttermere
View from our room...
We stayed at the Bridge Hotel Buttermere..
We went for a long walks...
We visited Hill Top, Beatrix Potter's cumbrian farmhouse, where she wrote her Peter Rabbit and Co stories, now a museum displaying her life and works...
My Lovely Fin bought me this wonderful Beatrix Potter Journal...
It really is a very special book with lots of flaps and letters to open, I treasure it greatly...
Views from the house to Near Sawery
We then drove to Coniston for afternoon tea at Yew Tree Farm It is where Miss Potter was filmed... Cosy fires and beautiful damson jam!! It was very nice. They now run a B&B but not sure if they still open the tearoom
All very special and wonderful memories xx................ No. 3 7 11 19 Photos from Google images.

July's Thrifty Finds*~*

My latest thrifty finds I found on my travels....
Rosie bone china cups...
An 'English Rose' picture plate...
Boxed set of vintage glasses....
A fairy necklace holder.....
Two china jugs...
A Vintage China Tray...
A pretty rose bowl vase ....
More rosie bone china cups...
A little hand painted 1930s glass vase...
Silver plate cut glass serving plate....
A print of a little girl looking a bit forlorn ...
A Golden Jubilee Mug....
I paid under £3.00 each for all my wares, one lady must have felt sorry for me as she only charged me £2.00 for three cups, the mug and the picture, I must have looked like a 'Baglady', I must remember to check myself in the mirror, before my next shopping spree!
