A day with the Birds*~*

Last Friday Fin and I took ourselves off to here...its just the other side of Leek (our county town)

Feeding station...

Lots of bird boxes, most of them occupied...

A wooden seat with a leafy feel...

The air was warm and full of birdsong...

Bluebells still blooming among the ferns...

Magical trees...

A forgotten cottage....

 Log piles .....
Toadstools...

 Tumbling waters...

A Badger sett hidden in the bank...

A baby Woodpecker..Mum had just fed him

 More Bells....

A green roof..

Meadows for bees and butterflies...We loved our walk with birds, I hope you did too...Thea x

  6. A lovely walk, with sweet memories of Dorset where we were on holidays last month and made many walks, also in the bluebell woods. That wooden seat with leaves is really beautifully made.

  9. What beautiful pictures Thea, showing the fading echoes of spring. I can just see myself in that forgotten cottage, what a shame when I am sure lots of people would love to live there! In my mind I'm decorating it with lacy curtains and a sage green front door wreathed in pink rambling roses ...

Enjoy these last days of spring my lovely

    1. Hello Claire
It is such a pretty cottage, right in the middle of the reserve..Clough Meadow Cottage was once the home of a naturalist who I suppose left it to the RSPB..you are right it would make a lovely home, alas no electric, no running water and no road in, but still idyllic

PS. I can just see your lacy curtains
