Dressing Up....*~*

I have been spoilt, Fin bought me two new dresses...
So I thought I would show you.. this one from "White Stuff" I just fell in love with it as soon as I put it on...
I do not usually go shopping for clothes so it was a real treat ( lunch out too! )
And the second one was from the online sales

Beautiful fabric....from" Nomads" in Cornwall

So I am over the moon...and have now had a good sort out in the wardrobe department!
Also as I was having a clear out in the garage, I found this magazine, the little dress caught my eye..
So I found some material in my stash and made this...
A pop over pinafore dress
Added a deep pocket...

There...now what shall I wear today ( I think it will have to include wellies at the moment)
Thank You so much for all you special words, I have an anniversary coming up soon (2 years) so I am having a giveaway to celebrate.... back soon..Thea xx

  5. We have very similar tastes as this morning I ordered the same dress from White Stuff using my 15% off voucher that came in the post. Hope your lunch out was delicious and a welcome treat after all this rain and wind. Love your pinafore - I love to sew but never clothes only little pretties. There are fat buds on our magnolia and january is over thank goodness. xx

  6. Hi Thea, I love them all and would find it difficult to know which to wear first. The pop over pinafore dress is so sweet, but I love the colour of the first one, but then again, the fabric for the second one is gorgeous. No, I can’t choose.

  7. Lovely dresses and I do like your blue fabric. What have you got planned for that? My sister buys her dresses from the 'White Stuff' and they always look so good on her. Lovely in the winter with thick tights and boots and equally nice in the warmer weather. On the practical side she always says they are good for holidays as they don't crease!

  9. Love the new dresses, especially the white stuff one, I bought a similar one from them in a grape colour with a small cowl neckline to wear at Christmas and it has become one of my favourites. The pinafore one looks like it could be real winner too!

  11. Popped over to say hello - so nice to "meet" you! I love this pinafore dress - I like pinafores very much - practical and pretty and comfortable. I like the fact that this one you can make in a lightweight fabric and wear even in winter over legging or jeans and a long-sleeved top. Hadn't come across Handmade Living before - must check it out. It looks very "me"! Wishing you a happy Friday. Elizabeth x

  15. I think it's really nice when your husband buys you clothing. The fabric in the first dress is SO pretty! You look great in the other two dresses too. Now you need to be taken out again so you can wear them. Have a great weekend :) Wendy x

  16. Dear Thea
I love that pinafore dress - I have a bit of fabric I could use to make one of those...would cover my jelly belly nicely too!
Thank you so much for calling in - very kind of you. I wonder if you could like the 'pig egg cup'? Was it the one with red ears with the spoons in? If so I would very much like it to go to a good home with memories attached. If possible send me your address and I will put in the post
    Best wishes
    Jenny

  19. Lovely. I really enjoy posts about dresses and yours are fab, all in different ways. The shot of you wearing your dress is really clever. I'm doing a sewing course on Friday. Maybe one day I will be able to make something to wear too!!

  21. Hi Thea thanks for coming over to my blog. Yours is very pretty. I love the dresses, especially the pinafore you made. Like you I'm madly in the dress making mode at the moment but as we have a relocation in the pipeline I don't have much time for sewing. I've just got this months Making magazine and there's a Markimekko dress pattern for a nice simple dress that I'm itching to make...oh I wonder if I could just steel an hour or two from something else at the weekend and have a go at it...
